Its territory is included in the Eastern Riviera, exactly on the west side of the Gulf of La Spezia: with its administrative seat and Portovenere, in one of the three municipalities facing the Gulf of Poets, a wider area of unique beauty, which has an essential bond with the great writers of the twentieth and nineteenth century. How to reach Lerici By car: choose the motorway A15 (The A15 is an Italian autostrada (motorway) connecting Parma and La Spezia through the valleys of the Taro and Lunigiana Rivers. Thanks to ATC Azienda Consortile, that is in charge of the local public transport, Lerici can also be reached by bus, (directly or changing) from the train station of La Spezia Centrale, Santo Stefano Magra, Sarzana and Carrara. The town is crossed by two main provincial roads 28 and 331, the latter connects it to La Spezia and Romito Magra , which is part of the municipality of Arcola. It is worth mentioning that during certain periods of the year it is not possible to cross, nor park in the town centre, as traffic is restricted for non-residents. There is a free shuttle service that takes you from the parking in Venere Azzura to the centre of Lerici or checks the services provided by your hotel. The nearest train stations are La Spezia centrale, at about 10 km and Sarzana. By plane: The nearest airports are “Cristoforo Colombo” in Genoa, at an hour distance, and “Galileo Galilei” in Pisa at a shorter distance. Another option is Aero Club Lunense “P. Lombardi” in Sarzana. By sea: Consorzio Navigazione Golfo dei Poeti is in charge of the maritime transport of the area, there are ferry boats to and from Portovenere, you can also tour Palmaria island, Tino, Tinetto, Cinque Terre and Portofino. For those arriving by boat, there is temporary mooting for loading and landing passengers in front of the local maritime office, on the pier in Lerici. There are 12 moorings in calata Mazzini, at the end of the pier, which is available throughout the year, there are water and electricity, for boats no longer than 12 mts length.
